Infrastructure in Delhi.
Hi friends, feels good to be posting my first blog. Was wondering as to the topic I would start to blog about, but i think i finally i found a good one. I have been staying in Gurgaon for the past four months, and i frequently visit Delhi. I am astonished to see the infrastructural developments here. This is the first time I am staying in the northern part of the country. I feel the development that has taken place here is taking India to great heights. The roads here are incredible and the traffic is always at a flow. I would like to mention about the latest flyovers opened up a few days ago. There are four flyovers and the fifth is under construction. These connect Delhi to Gurgaon and have reduced the one hour drive span to just 25 minutes. They are all 8 lane roads and very well constructed. The other best thing i would like to mention is the Delhi Metro. It has made life in the capital very easy. The metro connects the two extreme ends of Delhi. The connectivity is very good, there's a metro running every 2 minutes and it takes a minimum charge to drop you to your desired station. These metro's run parallel to the main roads either as flyovers or underground at many places. Hence making a very comfortable source for around 2 lakh commuters who use the metro daily. The expansion plans that are taking place here are really tremendous. The metro will soon be connecting the whole of NCR (Near Capital Region), this includes Gurgaon and Noida on the two ends. This will help the two fastest growing IT hubs in the north to be connected and will be a fast and comfortable means of transport. I feel its being a very important step the government has taken to connect these cities and thus improve the standards of life here.
